looking at the lian-li cases, they are very expensive and dont look too nice.. maybe it is because i havent seen some of the better ones but yeah... the Evercase looks way better imo... and is like 35 bucks.... compared to a 100 dollar lian li case thats pretty.... ugly.... anybody agree? people disagreeing care to justify?

That is your opinion on their appearance. However, you get what you pay for. Lian Li pre installs sound dampening foam, additionally you will see rounded corners, and very high manf quality.

The Evercase 4252 is technically a better case than the regular PC-60/61/7 family of cases. The front bezel on the Evercase has excellent airflow with an indirect air path which reduces noise out the front. The Evercase takes 120mm fans which as we all know flow lots of air without the noise of smaller fans. Also, you can get accessory parts such as soft hard drive mounts and an extra hard drive cage direct from Evercase for a reasonable price.

The Lian Li cases are nice quality, no doubt about that. But they are more form over function in my opinion.

this particular evercase doesn't seem to have a intake fan, though that may not be totally necessary. the side duct is nice and seems somewhat rare for a case in that price range (as well as 120mm suppor)

It's a luxury line. They're made to look nice, but you're not paying specifically for function. A 5 series BMW will have more features, generally better build quality, and a more appealing look (except the new ones 😉). A Ford Crown Vic will have fewer features, generally lower build quality, and a more sedated look. Does this mean you can't use a Crown Vic to shuttle people to and fro, haul tons of luggage and ride on the highway comfortably? Nope. With some mods, they can be made faster than the Bimmer and encorporate more features. As with the case, some clever mods can have an Evercase more functional than the Lian Li. If you like the style of the Evercase, that's a bonus. 🙂

In a nutshell...Build quality...Easily the best in my humble opinion...And we are talking about a case made of steel versus aluminum construction...Not exactly an apples to apples comparision.

Looks alot like the SLK3700 Antec Series cases which in that price range are awesome deals...Provisions for 2 120m/m fans...Love the slide in drive rails with rubber dampers for mounting drives...Excellent case performance wise at any price.

PC Power & Cooling make the best power supply's on the planet...But at a very high price.

This Lian-Li PC-7BPlus is my favorite Lian-Li at the moment...Very nice case...Besides the best build quality it also has provisions for 2 120m/m fans a 80m/m blow hole, aluminum construction, window...Really nice case...And the cooling is every bit as good as the Evercase.

Best build quality...Elegant looks...Excellent cooling...But just like PC Power & Cooling power supply's come at a price.

One thing for sure...Until you own a Lian-Li it is hard to appreciate what they bring to the table.

Well, Lian-Li are far and away the best cases in terms of quality. They really are built amazingly well. Everything fits perfectly, the seams are tight, you really have to work with one to realize the difference.

As for looks, it's always a matter of opinon. I think the Lian-Li v1100b is the most elegant and attractive case out there, with nothing in a close second. Some people like the gaudy, rice-rocket looks of thermaltake and other tacky cases. I'm trying not to make my biases apparent. I think I'm failing.

Anyway, I think they're worth every penny. I like to reward a manufacturer that makes a product above and beyond the competition with my dough. Even if it leaves me broke.

It really depends on how you look at an enclosure. To me, it's just a box that holds hardware that sits under a desk, I don't sit there and marvel over it. And from that point of view, the most important thing for me is cooling performance. And that is where the LL's stumble badly, the stock cooling performance is sub-par compared to cases costing 1/5 as much. Some people like the glitz and glitter, the bling-bling, of the LL's 😉. You shouldn't have to mod a $100+ case to get it to cool well, that is simply absurd.....

Opinion is the key word... 🙂 I hate that series of case, I don't like the way they look at all (the v1100b does look better than the v1000b) and I hate the layout. It just looks like a big fat black box. But I'm not a fan of the exteremely gaudy cases out there either. Lian Li does make some nice looking cases, and they are of high quality no doubt.

My favorite right now is the Chenbro Gaming Bomb 2, I liked it so much I bought one.... 😉

By the looks of the last Lian Li review here, the sound foam didnt do jack for it.

Well I agree that it is absurd to have to mod a 100 dollar plus case to get decent cooling performance.

The Lian-Li PC-65 comes to mind...Luckily if you look around you can find updated versions of the 65 and 75 series that cool with the very best cases on the market.

I personally do not like the PC-65...Looks great...But cooling performance is just pitiful compared to some of the newer cases out there that use 120m/m fans, side vents and air duct to the processor.

Guess it is just the modder in me that no matter what case it is I just have to drill holes, cut out grills, experiment with different fan combinations.

I agree with Muckers statement to a certain degree if you are talking about the old Lian-Li's...But the updated and new Lian-Li's are every bit as good as anything on the market.

All be it at a price.
