I mow my lawn in shorts, no shirt and flip flops, it too hot here in FL for anything else.

Mosquitos can't keep up with me on the riding lawnmower.

Deer flies can, but the spray doesn't really help with them, so I just wear a hat.

At home I wear shorts just cause of the heat.

At my parents cottage, when I get stuck having to mow there, I wear jeans because of the height of the weeds and the poison ivy that grows like mad around there.

Are your legs THAT hairy that ticks will attach there? Also, how tall does your grass have to be to get ticks

I disagree with the flip flops. My dad is missing 2 toes because he lost his footing. Mowers are more dangerous than they look unless you have a perfectly flat property. Just be careful. ;)

I dont think a sneaker is going to save your toe in that case ;)

Nothing to prey on me while I mow. Haven't really seen one of those stingers around here in NC for a while. :)

yeh steel toe all da way!
but seriously rocks can get thrown from under the lawnmower if its not adjusted correctly and cause some damage to your shin/leg area
