I thought the logic was so that you could leave the area when the hurricane hits...

Once someone answers this, also tell me why Indonesians live in earthquake zones. What a bunch of 1053rz!

Its all about money, if they could afford solid built homes they would I'm sure.

Trailer Homes are cheap, so people take their chances, because they can't afford anything else anyways.

All that they can afford. Also, honestly, there is not much to lose if it gets demolished.

Generally that's not true. In fact we end up paying for this because of all the services FEMA offers them before and afterwards.

I lived in one with my wife for 5 years in florida.. never had any damage.. was nicer than apartments and more private...

but I was In jacksonville... very few hurricanes come ashore there...

tornados still a bit scary though.

if your house is going to have to be replaced every few years due to hurricane damage, and you can't afford hurricane insurance, then going with a cheap/disposable (ie mobile home) seems like a good idea to me

i suspect most of these people would prefer to live in a real house givent the choice, dont make it sound like they are doing it intentionally

You really are retarded. Try being down in FL or the like after a hurricane, you really think that most of the money goes to people in trailors? Dont be so ignorant.
