Why do people like slashdot?

I find the comments section to be the most enjoyable, it's great when people from the industry speak.

I don't like the layout, but the broad scope of tech stories keeps my interest Stefan 🙂

I also hated the comment section until I changed it to nested. Much easier to read the comments.

wtf is slashdot? link?

I would but I don't want slashdot to suffer from the ATOT effect.

/.

Edit: To answer the OP, it's just a news site for nerds/geeks. The beauty about /. is the comments section.
