Nothing sounds good on a system that comprises of the sh1tty stock speakers, with an aftermarket headunit, a pair of 12" subs running off an amp that's clipping and distorting the subs so badly you can't even hear the bass.

And country can sound great on "those" type of systems, if you set them up right and use good component.

Going back on topic, they do it because 90% of them are inconsiderate. If they cared that nobody else really wants to listen to it, they'd Dynomat their car and roll their friggin windows up.

And to the guy complaining about the stereotypes, they exist for a reason.

Like the stereotype of West Virginians being racist rednecks?

I think you missed the joke. Country music sounds like sh!t at any volume.

They are idiots, that's why.

Every hour or two, some retard will drive by with his loud music and bass that makes the whole block tremble. Ten car alarms go off. Not every owner of their car is available/in the area. So most of the time it's either the house shaking bassy crap or car alarms, but it's all pretty stupid.

They also drive VERY slowly, seemingly to affect as many people as they can.

Ahem, just as I said. They're looking for attention. Either that, or they don't want to get stopped by police because they're hiding something.

To say you listen to "rock" is a very general statement.

My guess is people who listen to Rap dont give a damm about other, I've notice they are the ones who won hold the door open either or say thank you when you do for them.

Thats a stereotype.. I like rap and I'm very courteous.

One example proves nothing.

If you did a study to gauge politeness, intelligence, and attitudes, the stereotypes of those those who listen to rap would be found true, atleast for the majority.

As for the volume being up high, I know the answer: Just a bunch of imature idiots wanting attention. Mostly kids, or younger 20 somethings who can't grow up. Dumb people are very self conscience.

Rap is children's music. It's funny though, because rappers rap about how "manly" and "hard" or whatever they are, but the average listener of rap is a 15 year old kid who's just angry at his parents.

So your hypothetical trumphs all others huh, I'd like to see this study. I too like rap and I'm top 5% of my class (despite my lack of math skills :frown: and generally very polite. I also like classical music (large Dvorak fan) along with classic rock, techno, blues and pretty much any other type of music. So theres 2 examples vs your hypothetical. Empirical evidence FTW!

Seeing as how well you sterotype, I'm going to try it to. Everyone who insults a group of people for liking a certain type of music is just insecure and wants to try and feel superior because in real life, no one likes them.

I'm speaking of people whose primary music is rap. The type who "act out" the whole rap culture. The walk, the talk, the rims on the car.

Fixed for you. I'd expect someone in the top 5% of their class to know the difference.

Why don't you explain to us why people listen to their music so loudly?

Damned annoying flatmates insist on listening to hiphop crap far too loud.

Can anyone recommend anything with LOTS of bass in it?
Maybe some hardcore of some sort, dance tunes etc, that are VERY bass heavy?

I have a few - New Order - Confusion (Pump panel remix) (the song from the club in Blade)
Prodigy - Voodoo People (and remoxes) and No Man Army, and I have other bass heavy songs, but i want something that will be seriously unbelievable.

Sine waves :)

Uh...Daz Dillinger - My System, Evanescense - Bring me to Life

Not the ladies he's going for...

I also like rap, but I don't like sharing it with everybody. Logically, someone who isn't courteous enough to keep his music down won't be courteous in other aspects...

Ask the morons that live on my block who do it on weekend mornings in their driveway with the car parked.

That's only in the morning. It's like an alarm clock. You're supposed to be cooking breakfast in the morning.

Anyway, I'm with Deeko. I also like it when my music is turned up. As for those whose trunk vibrates because the bass is too loud, it's not the bass that's too loud, it's the driver that's too stupid to care about sounding good. Any respectable audiophile would take care of ANY AND ALL rattle before turning said stereo up.

The same reason I listen to redneck country at full volume. Or happy hardcore techno at full volume. Or classic rock at full volume. Or anything else at full volume.

They think it's good music and the louder the volume, the better the music :D

Acutally I meant that he should have the results of this study, ie empirical evidence, because you need to do a rigorous study to support his thesis. It had nothing to do with my comment about the 2 casual examples, sorry for the poor structure.
