why do people hate the H2?? and no one EVER mentions the G500

I don't know about where you live, but I've seen about 40 H2s since they came out and ZERO G-Wagens. H2s are obnoxious, HUGE and way too much car for ANYONE unless you live on the Rubicon.

G-Wagens are much less common.

ive seen one G500, at the local athletic club. and about 5 different H2's, im not saying that you guys dont hate the H2, but people seem to think the H2 is the ONLY car out there that is to big the G500 has less of a purpose, is as big, if not bigger, its a BLOCK, no im not joking, you couldnt get straighter lines on a car.

Because the G500 has been around for more then 25 years and has more off-road ability then 90% of SUV's sold today. Do some research before you make yourself look like an idiot.

EDIT: I should at least add that the Geländewagen was originally designed/produced for German police use. How many H2's do you see used like this?

I have never seen that car on a road in my life. I personally hate the H2 and love the H1. The H2 is a soccer mom's car that's aspires to be a real Hummer, yet it is built on a pussy chassis that if it ever saw real offroad tests, would sh|t itself. The H1 n the other hand will keep going after being shot many times.

Thats the same thing only in AMG flavor. He's trying to say that the G class can actually go off-road... im sure the H2 can as well... but it just seems like a poser vehicle compared to its predecessor.

Not a pussy chassis; just oversized. Its a Suburban chassis from what I recall. At least its a real truck chassis....

Funny that you should post a thread that explains exactly why the H2 is so mediocre offroad. If you want to know why, read all of my posts in that thread. Same user name. Shall I summarize it for you? Those H2's are doing NOTHING that a stock 4x4 Tacoma, F150, Range Rover, Pathfinder, S10, Grand Cherokee, Audi Allroad, Volvo XC, Subaru Outback, etc. etc. etc. can do. The H2 is a piece of junk, by almost any measurable metric.
