why do people goto cafes aka starbucks?

Why do people go to a restaurant when they can make it at home?

It's faster and easier. And we're all lazy.

SB is hardly a crap. Overpriced? Yes. Crap? No. Besides, it's good for you to get out of the house once in a while.

with the money you spend on that sh** you could save it and buy a computer 🙂 I have seen people drop $100+ a week on that crap! Dont buy it and put it in savings, do something more productive with that money.

I'll do whatever the hell I want with my money. Thanks for your opinion though.

I worked at starbucks years ago, and two other independant cafe's.

I do roast and brew my own coffee at home.

Most people don't know how to make the drinks, I'm not saying it's hard, but most people simply are ignorant of that skill.
While Starbucks is not the best coffee, it's not crap either. I urge people who are interested to go check out other shops and taste a variety of roasted coffees, diversity is good.

but hey, if people consider the standard for 'good' then that just makes the really good stuff better. 😉

Why is it called starbuck? Does that mean "star jumper"? Tried my luck with different dictionaries but nothing came up, except for the chick from Battlestar Galactica (and the guy from the old series).

That's a good one, I could never figure out why people said Starbuck liked coffee. I always figured it must have been in a passage I missed, there's a particularly boring chapter about cetacean physiology that I skipped.

Heh, never read that book. Saw it when I was a child. Couldn't remember it though. Well, if they named the cafee after Antonius Block, I would not have asked anything 🙂

spoken like a true nerd.

oh and the only thing i ever drink at starbucks is caramel mochiatto. and if i am lucky, they will actually make it right.

I do a lot of work there. It's way cheaper than an office. And no, I don't drop $100 in a week, I get a medium regular coffee for a couple of bucks. Not a bad deal for comfy chairs, a table, web access, and a change of view from working at home.

I prefer Dunkin Donuts coffee but it's not as comfy to work for a few hours.

I don't know...I don't drink that much coffee....however...I do like the Starbucks blends they sell at Sam's Club. Niceness.
