Why do people get real world items when they exist digitally?

I wonder if there are lot of counterfeit Magic cards out there. Would not be all that hard to do... crazy how much some are worth. You'd probably be able to tell once you have it in hand since the cardstock would be slightly different and even the colors, but a simple picture of it on Ebay would look legit.

well, you are an idiot if you buy a black lotus on ebay. anyway, fake cards have been a thing since day 1, and people in the market really know how to spot a fake.

Yeah I just can't imagine paying that kind of money for basically a piece of cardboard even if it is legit let alone having to take the risk that it's not. I guess for people who do official tournaments and stuff where you can win big prizes maybe it's worth it but even then, I don't imagine even the big tournaments pay THAT much. And if you're just playing for fun with friends, just make your own freaking card if you absolutely want to have it in your pack. I don't think there is an International Magic Federation that is going to hunt you down and murder for it. :p
