Why do people forget their laptop at home and complain when they have to go get it?

Then you do not know how to think ahead towards the future. With virtualized apps you life gets much easier. No more conflicts. With APPV/Thinapp the packages can be cached for offline access.

:rolleyes: Yeah - and virtualizing all the apps will be a simple, easy process that takes no time or money at all. Considering the fact that I have no issues currently with these applications other than when somone forgets their laptop the cost/benefit doesn't really hold up.

Just because it makes sense in your work place doesn't mean it makes sense in mine. I have an Exchange upgrade, some VM upgrades and a phone switch (from 1998) upgrade I need to get through first (Not to mention 'smaller' tasks like evaluating and switching AV companies, SAN upgrade and clearing up the spaghetti wiring mess)

And as for making up time lost to go home and get the forgotten laptop? No, I do not agree with that. The very nature of the idea that the employee has taken the laptop home already tells me they put in extra time.

Not every laptop user has an office or an office that locks so taking it home does not necessarily = working at home
