Why do people buy Ebay Gift Cards at face or greater value?

If you look at completed gift card listings on ebay, a lot of the auctions end at slightly higher than the value of the gift card. What is the logic in doing something like that?

Well I'd say usable online. But even that seems flakey.

Only reason I can think of is last minute purchase after store closing hours at the online store perhaps?

Then again I find people to be strange creatures who do all kinds of illogical things.
