Why do people ask yes or no questions...

I hate when people do the opposite. Long answer to yes or no question.

A variation:

Offering someone Option A or Option B, and they answer with "Yes."


I assume that they meant the first option in that case, as attention spans these days tend

Bah, I always try to answer with yes or no, when not appropriate, but, when it technically "works."

"Do you want A or B"
"No I want C or D"
