Why do PC Games take a few seconds (5 to 6 seconds or less) to exit?

I have a SSD and the games are installed on there.

My PC specs are:

i7 7700k
32 GB of ram
Geforce 1080 ti
500 GB SSD
4 TB SATA drive

It's the Homeland Security algorithm calculating then uploading a Threat Risk Profile.....


Now way to speed it up. Maybe if you loaded everything to a ramdisk it might be faster, but I doubt it.

hold down power button... 3 seconds and everything turns off..

hitting the reset switch will also do it ....

Which games? They might be sending some status info to the server or doing a cloud save.

If you are playing via steam or battlenet they have to synch info back to the servers.

exit what? full screen? It is usually instant on my linux machine to minizmie a full screen game or switch to a different screen and if I need to stop it instantly, i would just sudo xkill the thing which is also instant.
I think it is an issue of the operating system because on windows, games always seem to take longer to close.
