Why do paintings get stolen all the time?

I always read about paintings getting stolen. Apparently there is over 400 Picasso works missing. I just don't understand why they are stolen. Most of them couldn't be sold anywhere, or else they would get turned in. Hard to do a private sale for something worth 60 million. Do people just steal them and hang them in their own living room or what?

"art lovers" that are poor

and are ok with theft

they steal them or buy them on the black market because they can't afford the "real" prices
