Why do onions make me sleepy?

I've been meaning to ask this question for quite some time. I'm sure there's some kind of natural chemical in them that does it. Not onion powder; I use it in my cooking all the time when I don't have a real onion, and it doesn't do it. I had onion rings w/lunch today and about 90 minutes later, I'm whacking my head off the screen :Q Just curious.....a lighter thread in light of the heavy duty stuff on here today.

LOL@Ollie! Hahaha, I just did the "cup the hand in front of your nose thing" and you're right; it smells like someone took a dump in there and forgot to flush! Eck. me\<---scurries off to bathroom to brush teeth!
