Navy guys seem to be the brunt of most of the military jokes I hear. But when you think about it...they are pretty badass. They are basically our strike force (aircraft carriers), have the most badass warriors (SEALs), and the craziest bastards (Marines) came from them.

So why all the Navy hate?

How many other branches have a poop deck, rear admiral and a big submersible dong shaped boat full of seamen?

During the first gulf war, there was a comic strip going around showing a view of the different branches of the service...

First frame: "Air Force" - Shows a maintenanceman on an asphalt runway in somewhere in the middle of the desert. Poor guy burnt to a crisp in the broiling sun, sweating, and working his bloody fingers to the bone readying his aircraft for the night's sorties...

Second Frame: "ARMY" - Shows a Tanker sitting in a superheated steel machine. troops in full 100+ lb combat loads covering his flanks. They're all Oily, greasy, and sweating their a$$es off in the broiling sun...

Third Frame: "MARINES" - Shows an Amphibious assault squad storming a beach, full combat loads, getting shot at, barbed wire, obstacles, and a sign reading "Mines" in the foreground. All Covered in dirt and sand and broiling away in the hot hot hot sun.

Last Frame: "NAVY" -

Shows 4 sailors sitting around a table, playing poker. One of them is looking over his shoulder and saying "Hey Chief, Wouldja turn down the Air Conditioning please? It's freezing in here!"

I'd make fun of anyone who'd ask for the AC to be turned down if they were freezing. They trying to make their asshole more numb for their visit to the rear admiral?

Arguable :)

a stupid 1970s pop tune.. and a Village Person that dressed in our uniform..

But then again it could be worse.. Coast Guard are forgotten as a Military Branch completely..
At least people remember us!

I served during Vietnam, I slept in a bed every night, I put on clean cloths every morning, I ate cooked meals 3 to 4 times a day, every day, I took a shower every day.

Laugh or ridicule all you want, I don't give a damn.
