Why Do my Icons Look Blocky

Large desktop Icons look fine, but the small tray icons look a little blocky on the edges. It happened after I switched from a 800x600 17" CRT monitor to a new 1280x1024 17" LCD monitor. anything I can do?

no, only like 1/2 of them look jagged on the edges. The other half of tray icons look clear and nice.

All the large desktop icons look fine and small jpg's show up fine.
