Always happens... and i have pretty healthy gums....

It seems to be the only food that does this... Any ideas?

Um, if you had healthy gums they wouldn't bleed from eating an apple!

Chances are you have chronic gum infection/disease. Likely you'll need dentures by your 30's if you don't get this fixed NOW.

You floss twice a day? Do your gums bleed when you do?

If not, your dentist is going to flip when you tell him about the apple eating trouble. BTW, I'd let him know during the next cleaning, if not, sooner.

I am sure you know but in case you don't I will tell you. It is all part of my evil plan.

Usually bleeding gums is a sign of tarter build up IIRC. When did you last have your teeth cleaned professionally?

Good question, because if it has been a LONG time, you could be at risk for gingivitis, or worse, periodontis!

Call your dentist first thing in the morning, and let them know what is going on.
If need be, they'll have you come in, or refer you to a periodontist.

Buy an electric toothbrush and use it twice a day for a while. I guarantee you that it will stop.

My teeth haven't bled while brushing for a couple of years now. They always used to bleed a little bit with regular toothbrushes. My dentist is convinced that I floss even though I don't...that's how good these things are. He says that the brush massages the gums, which increases bloodflow, which kills any bacteria there...result: healthy gums.
