This is the third day, and i'm still sore like a mutha. Why is it? And Why must it happen?! ARghhh, i'm having so much trouble getting around. Sleeping's not even an easy task anymore. Those stupid quads hurt when i sleep on my belly!

My gym teacher told me you tear down the muscle tissue and it takes time for it to rebuild.

Thats about it.

Being sore means you worked out good. You rip the muscle and it rebuilds itself even bigger. After a while, you get less sore doing workouts =)

Lactid Acid is more of a last resort type thing for muscles energy wise, it's pretty tough for muscles to get rid of it though, and it dose hurt qute a bit. Most the pain comes from the tearing of muscle threads though.

erikiksaz: Take pain killers and be a man about it ;), it'll go away. I played football all through highschool and also did track so trust me I know.

ps: currently have 2 torn ACLs, feel lucky muscle pain is all you have .

Holy moly, two ACLs (cringe) I thought having a slight tear in one of my ligaments was bad (can't remember which one it was), eek, can't imagine an ACL tear, let alone TWO of them!

Just train right and stretch after a quick warm-up run, and after the whole workout. A nice good stretch will almost rid you of any aches and pains after you've been working out for a week or so.

hey BD231, did you tear the ACLs in the same knee? how has your recovery been? I had knee surgery in March and my knee hasn't fully recovered yet. :(

Real men don't use pain killers.

I started working out this week with the Tony Little Gazelle (Okay you can laugh now). After the first couple of days, my muscles were killing me, no matter how much water or bananas I had. That damn lactic acid. Now, after 5 days, my muscles are barely sore, so just keep it up.

Actually I found that hydrating myself by drinking at least 12 fluid ounces of water BEFORE and after I work out, tends to cause less soreness after the workout.
