Why do Mexicans/Hispanics put their last name on their cars?

Why do they put these stupid small wheel/tires that stick way out of the fenders? Sure it some performance element since you have more torque but it just looks stupid.

I still can't figure out why people will spend extra cash every year to get the name of their car on personalized plates when the manufacturer generally plasters it all over the car as part of the purchase price.

Stickers in general on cars are stupid, IMHO. It's one of the more expensive things most people own yet they slap crap all over them like an old beer fridge.
