Why do mainboard sites seem so cheesy?

This is really random, which is why I'm posting this in the OT forum.

Why are mainboard sites (I just checked Soyo, Shuttle, Asus, MSI) so . . . poorly done? They don't look snazzy or attractive. I mean, compare it to nVidia's site. nVidia's site tries to sell a product to the consumer where as mainboard sites . . . *shrugs*

Because like it or not, motherboards are commodity items. The vast majority of them are marketed trough OEMs, who don't really need marketing-driven sites. I believe the market for retail motherboards is far smaller than, say, the one for display cards. Also, many OEMs use nVidia's name when advertising their products, but few use motherboards' names.

LOL So I guess it's just geeks and nerds who build their own computers that worry about mainboard brands. :)
