Why do links in old threads always get messed up?

I did a search for "peter" and clicked on the first result and this is what I get.

If it doesn't work for you, I took a screen shot here.

Notice the link in the post goes something like peter.wmv">enjoy and if you hold the mouse over it and look at the status bar at the bottom, it goes something like http://www.sunketsoft.com/media/russell<SPAN STYLE=

I pieced together the two and can come up with the correct link but was just wondering why this happens, and is it only me.

you need to take out the search string from your link.

it's probably due to the search function highlighting the searched text so you get errors in the links.
