Why do liberals hate our troops and hate America?

I realize you're just playing a game, a game that's getting rather tiresome, but this quote by Strk (is that his name?) seems fitting here...

It sure would be nice if some individuals would realize that criticizing the poorly planned "liberation" of Iraq is not tantamount to denigrating the soldiers serving over there.

[giving in to flame bait] I am a liberal, and I LOVE our country, and support our troops. The outcry is based on NOT wanting them to go over there and kill/die for our corperations to make more money. In case you werent aware of that, that IS why George Bush sent them there.

Of course George Bush is busy spending our tax dollars to pay Haliburton to re-build bridges destroyed in the war, for 50 million dollars each when Iraqi companies (The ones that built them in the first place) are LOSING the bid, when bidding 500 thousand dollars.

Yes, thats right, the bid with 100x the price wins... And this is why we are there... to make Bush's buddies richer. Welcome to Amerika ! 87 billion dollars down the tubes.

All sarcasm aside, I get deeply saddened when conservatives pull the "Liberals hate our soldiers" line. Its flat out wrong and flat out insulting.

It's very important when you send cannon fodder to die in an unjust and illegal war you started needlessly and on the basis of cunning lies that you maintain that those who wish to prevent you from doing so are the ones who are evil. You need to change the terms of debate and turn reality upside down. War must be made into peace and love become hate. Truth is a lie and patriots, traitors, etc. Evil especially must be made into talking with God. It happened easily to the a sophisticated culture like pre WW2 Germany's so it can happen even more simply here in brain-dead, TV-watching, modern America with it's almost complete lack of any sophistication at all.

This cry is levelled at all who dare oppose this action. There are many on the right who oppose the Iraqi action, because it was not necessary. Bush and his ilk are neo-cons, not conservatives.

Jup

Please read the following by a Texas Republican:

The Lessons of 9/11 by Rep. Ron Paul, MD

"The proponents of the Iraqi war do not hesitate to impugn the character of those who point out the shortcomings of current policy, calling them unpatriotic and appeasers of terrorism. It is said that they are responsible for the growing armed resistance, and for the killing of American soldiers. It?s conveniently ignored that if the opponents of the current policy had prevailed, not one single American would have died nor would tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians have suffered the same fate."

I think on closer examiniation the theory that the war in Iraq was for profit does not stand up. Thier are far deeper ideological reasons behind the war that stretch back to the end of the 1st Gulf War.

Get back to me when you have served a tour or two in the military and in combat. Then we will discuss your question.

Economic issues were and are a factor, just not the sole issue is more like it.

Why do liberals hate our troops and hate America?
Because our troops are sadistic perverts with shoe-size IQs, and the USA is a tyrannical, imperialist dictatorship. Duh.

Why? Are you saying if he serves he's more likely to understand? Or is it simply a matter of 'noone has earned the right to ask such questions unless they have served'?

Yes. That kinda hits the nail on the head.

People wonder why the military support Bush? To say anything negative can land you in jail. You have to remember Bush is the Commander and Chief and any officer or soldier who speaks out against him is breaking Military Law.

Just another liberal Army Veteran.
