Why do I want to see 8 mile?

I really don't care for Eminem, or rap in general, but I want to see this movie... it's kinda wierd. Anyone else else want to see a movie and not know why?

For some stupid reason, it looks like it will be a half-way decent movie.

Truth be told, behind that lunatic are some interesting words...perhaps the same will be true of the movie.

It does look like a good movie. Don't be prejudiced against it just because it has a formerly poor white guy from the ghetto playing a poor white guy living in the ghetto.

But the preview makes me want to see it.

Ditto. I actually enjoyed the trailer, although I have a feeling I'll find the plot to be rather boring. The thing is, the whole rap lifestyle and persona seems to be a big posturing act anyway (i.e., nobody comes out of the womb behaving like an overblown gang thug naturally; it's mostly a product of your environment and for show) so you'd think some of these guys would make great actors.

it's not really about rap or Eminem himself - and the story is decently original, so it's different enough to generate some genuine interest (outside of those who do want to see it for Eminem...)

the only reason i want to see it is to see parts of metro detroit where i grew up. Anybody else like this? I love watching movies set in detroit, even if they are bad(exit wounds).

That is just proving that they did a really good job making the movie

- put eminem in it, get all his fans to see it

- put eminem in it, and make a good story/plot, get everyone to see it
