Why do I think I'm doing something wrong?

I've finished installing Ubuntu Server 5.10 and more or less have it doing what I want it to do (SAMBA, SSL, Apache2)...and I've done it about 2-3 hours total.

I mean, can it be this easy? What am I missing?

It took me like an entire day to Gentoo running two years ago.

I just can't help but think I've missed something here...

I think Gentoo is a complete waste of time for no benefit. I spent hours trying to install it, with stages, whatever else, god damn, just gave up after I realized I could just get a Linux that works, like SUSE 10.
