Why do i keep getting a stop error while playing NOLF?

I am playing this under Win2K and it will go fine for a while then randomly it will give me a stop error relating to cwcspud.sys. I found out this is a file used by my Hercules game theater XP. I upgraded the drivers, but I still get the stop error, anything else I can do.

Go in the GTXP control panel under the OTHER tab (far right)...

Uncheck Enable hardware acceleration for 3D sounds. You can also go in the Windows Control panel, select sounds and multimedia, audio (middle) tab, advanced tab then performance tab. Bring the slider next to hardware acceleration back a notch at a time and retry the game. Do this until the problem goes away.

As far as any affect, I don't know how it affects other applications but if it stops the STOP crashes, it's worth it. 🙂

Cheers!

Okay i will try that, now I have another problem. i tried booting into Win ME to see if ti would work in there and I got an error while loading that says

An IO subsystem driver falied to load. Either a file in the .\iosubsys subdirectory is corrupt or the system is low on memory. I have 256MB of memory so i don't think it's low, so how can i check for the corrupt file?

Okay i will do that, i forgot abotu system restore. I tried disabling the stuff you said and I still get the error, should i disable the stereo sounds too?

Okay I tried doing that stuff and i am still getting the stop errors in Win 2k. Plus I am still having the boot problem with ME. I did a scandisk on that partition and it found the corrupt file and I thought it fixed it, but I am still getting ther error. How do i use system restore when i can't boot to Win ME?
