Why do I have to reset my router once a day?

Linksys BEFCMU10 modem, SMC 700ABR router and XP Pro. Once a day, at what seems random intervals, I lose my connection to the internet. I have to unplug my router for 15 minutes or so then renew the IP to reconnect. What should I look for? TIA

Based on the information you have given it sounds like your DHCP lease from your ISP runs out about every 24 hours and your router is failing to renew the lease.

If that is the case it means that your router is not working correctly or your dhcp server is not broadcasting the renewal requests.

Good Luck
