why do i have to join your website to download a demo?

I want to download a demo of Acrobat 8 and i have to join their site and wait for the confirmation email before i can download. watch it take 3 days for the email to get here.

Foxit Reader FTW. It's so nice not to have Acrobat on my system. Though I was pissed that TurboTax wouldn't even display my previous returns without detecting Acrobat installed. So I went to Oldversion.com and got v5 to save them then deleted that trash. Man how can they screw up such a simple program and then make it a PITA to download their bloated, 40MB PDF reader.

thats just a pdf reader though right? I need something that can make an editable PDF.
I may have asked for this a while ago and the demo of Acrobat was the only thing i could get to work.
