Why do I have such a hard time putting drops in my eyes?

It's like I have no control over my eyelids. It's always embarrassing going to the eye doctor because they have to struggle with me so much.

I know exactly how you feel. I flinch like crazy and they have a hard time putting drops in my eyes. I'll never be able to wear contacts--in fact, I can't watch my wife put her contacts in.

I am never able to do it to myself, but I am fine when someone else does it to me, provided I basically lie down.

Not allowing things to be sprayed, dripped or otherwise come in contact with your eye ball is normal.

But you have not seen Fullmetal Chocobo thrash around in the optomistrist's chair like a fish out of water. I don't believe it falls in the range of "normal"

It's because you are wuss like me.

I lay on my back, close my eye and fill the little well formed at the inside corner of my eye, then open my eye and turn my head so the solution rolls into my eye.

It's wastful, but I am what I am.

No, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Maybe it's just me, but I've found it's easier if I keep the bottle of eyedrops in my pocket for awhile before putting them in. I hate that sudden blast of cold liquid hitting my eyes, but if that's not there, the drops don't seem nearly as unpleasant.

one time i left my drops in my car overnight in the winter and i had to defrost it by cranking the heat and holding the bottle up to the vent. it was awesome.

I have a terrible time with eye drops. I aim high and when I jerk to avoid it about half the time it goes in. I don't like anything near my eyes really. It's a shame because I'd love to get contacts but would never be able to put them in.

Not use to it. I haven't put drops in my eyes for years, but having used contact lenses, I have no trouble poking my eye, even when there isn't a lense there. Practice some poking and you'll probably be fine😉.

I had a friend who had no problem 'feeling' his eye. Like he'd take a finger, and he'd feel out his eye. The pupil and everything. He's told me it isn't smooth and the pupil kinda sticks out.

I personally don't have problems putting in eye drops. But if you really have problems, maybe you could get one of these: http://www.cameron-graham.co.u...ges/opticare-range.php

I've seen something similar in the pharmacy section at Walmart. It just fits over your eye, all you need to do is keep your eye open, which is sometimes difficult because you know the drop is about to fall. 😵

I had that problem big time. Could barely but in eye drops if I had pink eye or something. Then I got contacts and stuck with it, and now I don't even flinch.

I wear contacts and have no problems putting them in or taking them out, but I *hate* putting drops in my eyes. I'll try the whole warming the eye drops thing next time I have to put drops in my eyes (very, very, very rare.. my eyes never get dry)
