Why do I get "signature not permitted"?

Hi guys.

I've searched and read through the faq and forum rules, but I can't find any instances or explanations as to why members would get this message. If there's a legit reason for it, then that's alright. I'm just wondering what the reason is.
 
We don't allow signatures until you have 25 posts. This is in an effort to cut down on spammers who are unlikely to remain long enought to get sig capabilities.
