Why do I get collisions on my network when receiving from a computer but not when sending?

I have three computers connected to my network through a 10mbps hub. We'll call the computers A, B, and C. When sending or receiving files between A and B the collision light never somes on. When sending or receiving files between B and C the light never comes on. When sending from A to C the light never comes on, but when A is receiving from C the collision light flashes almost constantly. I can also disconnect B from the network and the same thing happens. Does anyone know what would cause this? Thanks.

Are A and C the same brand and model of NIC? Have you tried using different ports on the hub? Different patch cables? Perhaps swapping A into the machine where C currently lives and vice versa? Need more details to help troubleshoot.
