Hi guys i just upgrade my system to a larger HD and decided to go with a SATA drive. I have been very happy with it overall. For some reason, i get a removal hardware icon in windowsxp. Whats up with that...its not removable hardware. I double clicked the icon and went into device manager and the drive properties and seen if there was a way to remove the drive as a "removable" hardware device. I don't see any way to do it. This is more of an anoyance that anything else but i would like to get it corrected. Can anyone give me some help on this one. Oh ya i almost forgot. My chipset is the nforce3 250. I have the latest chipset drivers from nvidia. I also have sp2 on xp.

Isn't SATA supposed to be hot pluggable? Even for desktops I could see this coming in handy in certain cases - say all of your SATA ports are used and you want to plug in a drive from another computer to clean up a bad install or restore some backups or something. My ThinkPad actually has a feature where I can swap the secondary HD for the CD-ROM without rebooting via the removable devices thing, which is sweet. Just seems strange to want to hide a device's functionality.
