Why do gel pen ink last a lot shorter than regular BIC pen?

The ink in gel pens get used up pretty fast. It has more ink than regular ballpoint, but gets uesd up about ten times faster.

Actually it has less ink because some of the ink is substituted for the gel...

Therefore you have a more dense ink..

well... also, it puts down more ink with thicker and deeper lines. that's why it's so easy to smear a gel ink line just after writing.

pressurized ink cartridge pens have the same problem of going fast.

but you dont use them too often.

unless you want to write in space, on grease, upside down, underwater,....i miss anything?
