I like the classic look. Beige, desktop case that weighs 100 lbs.
It also has a big IBM sticker on it.

I have a fairly generic beige case. I keep it tucked away under the desk and hardly ever see it.

Maybe making up for something else? I have a case from a friend of a friend that I got for free, with stickers all over it and the side doesn't fit on, but its got style.

It's because these people are hobbiest. They like to modify and create new things. Nothing wrong with it. Actually some of it is pretty damn cool. Some of it is overboard..but if it's tastefull it can look sweet.

LOL! I used to work with someone who did that. He moved away to Georgia Tech a couple years ago.

Mine is black....painted it myself too. Dad had some leftover Rhino-lining type bed liner that he used for his truck. Had plenty to paint my case with. Looks pretty cool and I can throw a brick at the computer now without the fear of scratching it

Next is to rub a little bleach on it. I hear that'll make it glow under my black lights I have in my room. Anyone know of that works?

Yes, the bleach thing works. I went to a club one night, and apparently all of the laundy detergent didn't wash out of my pants. I had funny glowing spots all over the place. What does this have to do with case modding? Ask your mother...
