Why do fat people drive little cars?

Do they spend all their money on food or something?

If I see a Geo metro, Ford Aspire, Aveo, Ford Ranger, CRX, or any small cab or small car it is driven by someone who is morbidly obese. They literally *wear* the car when they are out driving around. Anyone know what this unusual and bizarre idea is so prevalent?

They can't afford big cars.
Fatness often means lack of discipline, and lack of discipline almost always means lack of money. Lack of money leads to small car.

I think normal people in those tiny cars just look so fat because the car is sooo small.

Either that or it provides them with some type of psycological satisfaction that even though they don't fit in their mirror, they can fit in a tiny car, which makes them feel thin again.

It's not. The only fat people you pay attention to are the ones getting out of small cars and looking goofy.

Haha yea I notice the exact same damn thing. This one guy in my building drives this black old CRx SI and it's amazing he even fits in that damn thing. Course, with all the fried chicken buckets and fast food wrappers all around his car, no other person except a fat guy would drive it

Socioeconomic stats show that poor people are usually the most obese.

While I'm sure this is valid, I must think that those small cars can't always be cheaper than a larger or older car. I just can't see it. Newer Geo Metro, or older Oldsmobile that their fat ass can sit?

What I don't get are the people that go out and buy a brand new Geo Metro for $11,000. I'd much rather have a 5 year old.... pretty much anything else.

The fattest person I have ever known (a female 475-lb admin clerk at my old office) drove a V-6 Camaro. I always felt really sorry for the driver's seat.

That's always been my thinking as well.

I've seen a car slightly tipped to the driver's side before because the person was so huge. I think it was small too. Some of them just love fitting into that little spot. I used to have a cab driver (larger car though) with such a belly that it would constantly rub against the steering wheel. I bet it was caloused.

Because even the very large people need to drive an automobile and it happens to be the largest automobile they could afford. Something was like this on the Simpsons, but it was a very tall guy in a small car.

Nah. I've got plenty of money, tons of discipline, but no time to exercise.

I fail to the see the point. If you are fat and it isn't for medical reason you can lose the weight. Being chubby and being morbidly obese are too different things. How about growing some thicker skin? Oh wai...

Yes they are TWO different things but not too different things.

Thicker skin? Na. Just irritated by stuck up people who think their better than others. You might as well make another post on why so many harley riders are big.

All obesity is due to a metabolic condition of sorts. As such, there is always an underlying medical reason for it. Some of it is psychological, most of it is physical. What can start out as chubby can (and often does) turn into obesity and morbid obesity - pretty much on its own.

I realize that you are trying to be funny, Mill. The problem is that obesity is not a funny condition. It certainly is not as simple as your simple mind thinks it is.
