Why do certain pro soundcards "not like windows sounds"? What does that mean?

Hi,

Sometimes I read that certain (pro) soundcards like the Terratec DMX 6Fire and Aardvark cards and perhaps others "don't like windows sounds"?! First of all, what does that mean? What are windows sounds and why would a soundcad not like that? I don't understand what this is all about, but I have read this from time to time and would like to know what this means and what you can do against this?!

their drivers are aimed at pro stuff not games etc (the stuff windows does to cue you to an event in the os also)
