Why do Canadians always sport speedos at the beach?

Just wondering why most(not all) Canadians like to wear those banana hammocks at the beach. Just curious.

LOL! this thread reminds me of the kelloggs commercial of the flabby guy in the tight li'l speedos rubbing himself all over with sunblock.
As for canucks wearing speedos, I say let 'em. They can only manage to do it about once a year anyway, thanks to this sucky weather.
