Why do archived threads have so many duplicate replies?

I did a search for this (in the archives as well😛) and found it asked once (in 2000), but with no replies. Is it a glitch in Fusetalk, or do the records get slightly corrupted over time?
Hopefully this is the right forum to ask this in.🙂

Apparently there was a bug (or something) that caused threads archived during a certain period of time to have duplicated replies. Zuni has commented on it before, saying that since it doesn't really hurt anything too much, they're not going to bother trying to fix the threads that have already been archived with duplicates. Supposedly the bug (or whatever it was) has been fixed now, so "new" archived threads shouldn't exhibit those difficulties.

Still, a lot of other forums I visit you can reply to archived threads. Anands is the first place I visited where you can not.

Simple solution: just start a new thread! Then, when they complain, you can tell all the repost people where to stick it. 😉
