Why do Anantech Forum people overwhelmingly listen metal music?

Punk
Heavy Metal

Just wondering, not judging.

I like Metal, and understand the appeal of it.
Yet, I am not afraid to say I listen to Enya.

Dunno. I guess it has something to do with how people listen to music. The main difference I see between myself and a lot of other people is that they like to have something playing as "background noise" while they give their real attention to something else. I hardly ever do that. When I listen to music ALL I'm doing is listening to music. There's just not enough going on in mellow everyday music to stand up to this kind of scrutiny, so when I listen to music it's always something unusually extreme in one direction or another. If it's slow it's got to be really dark and somber or extremely moving in some way. When it's fast it's got to be really powerful and complex. Metal is often really powerful and complex, so that's mostly what I listen to.

Yup. Hell, I even listen to Barry Manilow. :Q I mostly listen to classic rock and mainstream heavy metal, but like most genres. Don't like country, don't like most rap (I do like Eminem, because I'm racist of course), don't like anything that is just a ridiculous display of bass. Anything other than that I'll probably listen to.

uh, the common phrase is 365/24/7...where its all 365 days of the year, and every hour of every day of the 7 day week...

saying 365.25 is simply accounting for the leap year as well...
