They're processed, not even natural, and cold.

I never got the facisnation with deli meat. I'm always puzzled when I shop at grocery stores, the deli place is always packed. I mean I do enjoy a turkey sandwich with mayo here and there, but that's about it...

I'll stick with hot subs! (meatball, chicken parm, STEAKBOMB, steak & cheese, etc)

Are you talking like, that weird meat you get in convenience stores? Because at the "deli" in my supermarket you can buy unprocessed cuts of meat, just as good as any butcher shop.

I agree, deli was created to find a way to sell leftover scraps of processed meat at high prices.

I don't think they're delicious, but they still taste okay and keep for a good amount of time in the fridge.

cause sometimes hot isn't feasible.

Obviously you have no idea what the hell you're talking about...ever hear of Boar's Head?

Back in my teen years I worked in a deli that served Boar's Head brand meats. My overexposure to Martin Scorcese flicks leads me to believe the experience was something akin to having the "family" come and "visit" you every week. Boar's Head reps would visit the deli regularly and go over with a fine-toothed comb, looking for anything and everything that showed their product in a negative light.

It's delicious...it's nutritious...isn't processed...and contains no preservatives.

Time for a sammich!

They can be good, and you can make them yourself. I don't have the patience/time (well maybe I have the time) to cook up meat for a simple sandwich.

It's gelatin with a bunch of bits of "meat" from the head of a pig suspended in it. I think. It's really a German sort of thing.
