Why do all my shirt sleeves shrink?

Almost every one of my long sleeve work shirts has gotten short on me. When I buy them new, they fit just fine, then after 1 or 2 washings, the sleeves barely go past my wrist when my arms are at my sides. This happens across a couple of brands of shirt, and they're all cotton-poly blends. Damnit, I thought poly wasn't supposed to shrink? :|

buy a bigger shirt or
dont dry it completely or
dont dry it with really hot air

Are you washing in cold and tumble drying on low, immediately removing them from the dryer once it stops?

washing cold, i think. regular drying and i usually don't bother removing them right away. so it's the drying, huh?

i have a couple shirts that haven't shrunk at all, though.

Yes, drying is what shrinks stuff.
