Why do Acura TL owners try to challenge a Lincoln LS?

It happened AGAIN tonight. Some smug guy in a TL with a BMW 330 side kick came FLYING past me in the right lane. I turned the traction control off, dropped the hammer and blew him right out my tail pipe.

I've blown the doors off so many TLs in my LS8 I have lost count. You think by now they would realize that their anemic V6 that Honda over-rated isn't going to cut it against my thoroughbred 3.9L Jaguar V8. FWD isn't helping either against my perfect 50/50 ratio RWD LS8.

Now, I know what your thinking, I would feel bad if I bought a TL also.

😀

/waits for next: my car is faster than your car thread.

Eh....5/10 as a parody thread 😉

The new TL-S seems pretty decent IMO. 286HP is nothing to sneeze at, even in FWD. I wish they'd put the SH-AWD on a TL - I'd actually consider buying one. The RL is too bloated IMO, even though it does have SH-AWD.

But I admired those LS' when they came out. The 03+ motors are pretty sweet, 280 BHP from a 3.9L - and most importantly, RWD!

Lincoln is a nice ride, but they seem to be more of an 'old-man' ride. Not picking on you, as I'm 30 and drive a damned Buick with the 3800 series II. It's a solid, comfortable, reliable, reasonably quick car, but it doesn't hold a candle to either the TL or your LS.

However similar looking in certain areas, they are not the same. I suppose that if you are so misinformed about cars that you mistook an LS for a Diamante, you may also mistake the front end of a BMW for a Pontiac. Maybe, you need glasses. I don't seem to have a problem telling them apart.

i have a story of a lincoln like that basically broke something and showered sparks while trying to pass me.

I have a Buick Grand National, and still have ricers trying me often. I don't even waste the gas anymore. I just look to them and giggle.

I really like the LS V8.

That said, I like the pre-1998 Town Cars more ... nothing says lincoln like the longest mass produced sedan in the US.

And maybe someday I'll put a built 4.6 into it to get more than 210 horsepower. It's a heavy car, it could use it.

it's too bad they don't make the LS anymore. The MKZ's 263hp/249torque V6 are still a bit shy of the LS's V8. But the MKZ looks great, if a bit on the small side. Too bad it doesn't have a manual or paddle shifters.

No matter what you wanna say about the LS, it is an old man's car.

You go ask around, 90 percent of people considers it an old man's car. Just like 90 percent of people consider a Camry is a family car, or an H2 a poser car.

You can't fight stigma.

What I think is funny is that the Acura and the Beamer were racing by him in his Lincoln and he took it as an affront to his car and manliness. My guess is those two retards weren't even paying any attention to you.

This was a parody thread you taffard. 🙂

You must have missed the first two threads with BMW and Acura owners going at each other about how much power their engines made. I guess you didn't get it. I made this thread because the LS engine (until this model year) made considerably more power than both, and is also a sports sedan.

Ahh. Well usually if you're doing a parody thread you just post once for the sarcastic value and then don't continue to defend your position as it's not really a position in the first place. So pardon my confusion.

I don't feel I am defending much, just having fun. It's not my job to educate people, and I am certainly not trying. 🙂

The other threads were weeks ago and someone revived this thread, so by now anyone reading it, by your example, would be completely clueless.

Consider me clueless.

PICS! I :heart::heart::heart::heart::heart: Grand Nationals.

I think this was the first car I ever realized was a true sports car. A neighbor of mines had one, but I can't remember much about it, since I've only ridden in it twice or so.
