Why do Abit motherboards suck so bad?

I RMA'ed my Abit BE6-2 after it locked up one day then refused to power back on. Pulled all of the hardware out of it and put it into an ASUS CUSL2. It's all running rock solid there.

The BE6-2 I got in return (after a month of waiting) is an unstable hunk of junk. The ATA66 controllers do not recognize the IBM ATA100 HD attached (it is enabled in the BIOS and I tried 2 different 80pin cables). Slap it on the ATA33 and it pops right up. As if that isn't enough, I put a SB16 PNP (ISA) in the motherboard and it never even detects it. I try to add it with the hardware wizard and it BSOD's. I remove the SB16 and try again (even though the card was working fine in another system) and it locks up solid.

What a piece of crap. I'll NEVER purchase another Abit product again.
