Why didn't you find clamp negative LOD bias to be a useful feature?

I think that it sucks that nvidia took it away for DX games, just like they took away the option to render zero frame ahead and just like they took away the option to force trilinear mipmaps.

Did anyone else like the option to clamp negative LOD bias for every game?

Their drivers are just getting worse and worse IMO and it sucks that the alternative (AMD) is just as bad with features.

I don't know what you're talking about, or you don't know what you're talking about, but the clamp negative LOD bias is still there.

I have it on clamp mode in my driver panel right now in fact. Putting texture filter quality on high quality enables clamp on the negative LOD bias in fact.

Adding negative or positive lod manually has no effect -- unless one enhances with SGSSAA! SGSSAA now has automatic lod and also flexibility with manual lod adjustments -- positive or negative lod for SGSSAA!

what? enabling high quality does not change anything for negative LOD bias in the cp. you still have to manually set it to clamp.
