Why didn't Tiger Woods win the MASTERS?

Not based a golfing perspective or athletic ability:

Case #1:

Andre Agassi

Upon dating famed actress and model Brook Shields Andre Agassi was on top of his game and his popularity flourished with adverts of Nike and unparalled athletic tennis skill.

Andre Agassi experienced a sudden drop in his performance and his once sought after ranking had plummeted to a non-existence on the world's competitive tennis scene.

Andre Agassi later split relations with Ms. Shields and jettisoned a return to his once holy and powerful ranking in the men's tennis court. His determined return to competitive play bounced his ranking from the depths to the top 50 in the world.

You are free to do your own brainstorming here with Tiger's recent golfing play at the Masters and his new relationship.

It's just an amusing theory but I know that it's out of place even talking about it. A persons personal life should not come into conflict with one's professional life. Also, other people outside of the sphere of the person shouldn't be evesdropping or taking pleasure in know the details on that persons life.

This is however the age of voyeauristic miscreants and reality-tv so people are actually interested in speaking/watching these things even though it is a violation of one's peronal space and privacy. This is only to serve as discussion and amusement here on ATOT and yes it is at the expense of another person's life.

to say that he's not on top of his game because of one tournament is rediculous. he did shoot 66 in the 3rd round...

It could also be that he screwed up so badly on the 3rd hole that he was unable to recover.

But your theory sounds a lot more likely.

He lost because he was not the best in the Masters that day. Because Tiger is a great golfer, does not mean that he is the only pro out there.

That's a relief because if there weren't others, we'd end up watching him play with himself every Sunday.

Tiger's been dating her for quite a while and has won plenty of tournaments (including majors) during that time.

Golf is just kinda like that; no one is so good that they can win on command.....especially when you're talking about a course like Augusta National. Make a few mistakes in the wrong places, and your chances of winning = squat. (see also: Jeff Maggert and his mega-meltdown on Sunday).

He's won the previous 2 masters.

I meant this year, on the West Coast swing. CBS made sure I knew about the last two Masters.

Actually that's not true. The only time he gets appearance money for touraments is when he does stuff outside of the PGA tour like the Dubai Classic and such. If he doesn't make the cut in a PGA tournament, he goes home empty-handed just like the next guy.

He wasn't quite as consistent in this first round. He dropped one too many shots.

How many shots did he lose by and where did he come? I only watched some of his first shots but my friend said he was about 5 over at some points in the first round. 2nd round did better.....

The best win most but not all. Otherwise you'd just be a fvcking machine!!!!!!

Everyone has bad days. His bad day just encompassed 36 holes. Thats why he lost. If he was in better position on Sunday, the double bogey on 3 wouldnt have shook him up so much. Atleast he didnt have a triple bogey and quadruple bogey like Maggert had.

He wanted to win. Be the first to win 3 Masters back to back. Only 2 other people in this historyof Golf have had the chance to win 3 back to back. If he does it will be amazing now since he didn't win this time......

His name would be forever written in the Golfing history books. I think he would have wanted this. It will be a long time for someone to win 3 Masters in a row.....
