Before train, an automobile was wished to be made which wasnt able to turn anywhere, just went straight, so it cant be called an automobile acually. When we go back to 1769, we see a french wanted to move something with steam engine without railway, it was as slow as a person walked and in minutes its fuel was running out. Steam engine didnt work in cars, but for something which was to go in railway, it worked. So people made railway and used that tecnology for trains in early 1800s. With steam engine people were travelling on trains but they couldnt do something which could go somewhere where there was no railway so people kept using horses back then too. On land horses and trains with steam engine, on water ships with steam engine are used. There were trains but no cars because cars needed to have a different tecnology, sounds interesting.
