My brother in law used to conrete the floors in the plants that make that stuff.

The workers were dressed in head to toe suits (like biohazard). they worked for 40 minutes and had to go outside for 20 minutes. Every hour 40 on/20 outside. And he had to reconcrete the floor every six months, cause that stuff ater away the concrete.

:) I have been drinking it since ... hellfire... since TAB first came out

I've always known....that's why I NEVER drink diet soda. Basically, anytime you take junk food and change ONE of the ingredients to make it more "healthy", it actually ends up being WORSE for you.

My mom has some of those problems and she loves diet coca cola. She had problems with her joints which is kind of ironic now that I'm reading this. She's addicted for sure though.. Won't give it up even if you paid her yet she claims she doesn't have a problem..

This is interesting, just last week Iwent to the doctor, I had seen a lot of rapid weight gain and excessive sweating all of a sudden, which struck me as unusual since I'm a bit of a health nut, run 5-10 miles a day, etc...

Did some blood work, and he linked it to this, I cut off the diet soda for whats now 1 1/2 weeks or so, and man, the sweating has dropped way down to normal levels, and the weight is actually dropping too. Soooo weird, it hit me all at once.

You should clarify that the list is in relation to aspartame, there are in fact 3 artifical sweetners and aspartame is the one that people have problems with. Might have something to do with aspartame turning into wood alcohol and fermaldihyde at body temp.

That is a pretty small sample size, 600 people generally is not considered indicative of the overall population, I'd like to read up more on how the tests were conducted.

I've made my peace with the 'soda' people. Soda is acceptable. But I will never, NEVER accept 'coke' as a generic term for all of pop.

Do you always believe everything you read on the internet? Find a more reputable link than holisticmedicine.com, and maybe I'll listen. Or hyperlink to some of the more reputable references quoted in that article.

BTW, are you familiar with the placebo effect? Barnum effect?

Here's some other articles on that website:

If you ever visit texas/new mexico/southern oklahoma/louisianna, you should probably say soda or carbonated beverage then, if you ask for a coke you'll get a dr.pepper, if you ask for a pop, some wiseacre will likely hit you in the mouth, or simply look at you like your a silly yank.

Wood Alcohol is methel alcohol. Drinking too much will make you go blind. The kind in beer is ethel alcohol. Aspartame really is bad for you and I personally will not ingest it. Not just diet drinks, but Coke C2 has it too. I drink regular coke or water.
