Why did you join Anandtech?

Used to read reviews on the main site, just decided to check out the forums one day and started off here in OT.

Here I am today over 3 years later.

Not sure if this is a repost, but I searched(not that that means anything) and couldn't find anything.

same exact reason as you
actually...here is my first post

edit..and my name is not Anil. I was paranoid back then that this forum is full of hackers and if i gave my real name away, they would hack my computer 😛

i built my first computer in 2002 from a google search that led to Tom's hardware. they had some links to the site. for a couple of years i just read the articles. then i saw the forums and registered. didn't post for nearly a year. then finally had some time as well as full internet access and started posting. have been hooked ever since.

Late in 2001, I was converting from Mac, and wanted to build my first pc.

I was browsing forums, and came across anandtech. I liked the people in the hardware forums, and so I stayed.
I found ATOT soon after, and I was hooked.

I had mostly lurked (low postcount), so I wasn't too worried about it when my account got lost in a forum software upgrade.

FWIW, that old P4 2.26 system still runs as stable as it did new. 🙂

IIRC it was because I was having trouble with my Asus GeForce DDR card. I ended up selling it to someone here who promptly cooked it through overclocking.

Had this question about Windows XP Pro and Media Center Edition. Then, I ventured into Politics & News - gave up after 5-6 posts.

Now, I just offer suggestions to people looking to build new rigs. I rarely start threads because I get all my answers from reading other people's threads. Occasionally, I nef here in OT to increase my post count.

I lurked about here for sometime before I made my first post. Bored surfing at work one day lead to me a local punk's personal page where he reviewed motherboards. I think he has since moved out of his parent's house.
😉

I actually heard about it when I was just getting into computers. I joined the forums because I went to work for @Home and was able to offer a lot of information in the networking and technical support forums. I only came into off topic (and later P&N) when I was out of the business and so had nothing else to do here. 😎
