I never got how they made it so skinny. Never been inside one or known anyone who had one.

LOL, my friend's daughter got married a couple of years ago, they both make good $$. They bought this huge house outside Sacramento, Ca. My friend and his wife go out to visit, and the daughter picks them up in an ECHO. Hell, they had to rent a car for their luggage alone!

Another friend had a Echo, until it got hit by a drunk. Over 6 years later, his brother, who was in the passenger seat is STILL having operations on his face to reduce the scars, etc, and will probably be having tham for some time to come. They were both hurt very badly, due entirely to the size of the Echo. Both had broken legs, the brother broke both legs, his pelvis, right arm, shoulder, jaw, and several fingers. They had to replace his hip after he got arthritis due to it being dislocated in the wreck.

The Camry that hit them wasn't all that badly damaged. I wouldn't think of driving one of those tiny cars, first I'm too big, secondly, I have two dogs, but mostly, I would be scared s***less driving it. If I had been driving one when I got into the wreck I was in 3 years ago, I would probably be dead.

So it was an econo box with great gas milage that was butt ugly?

Because Echo killed Prius on gas mileage, price and reliability. And they had to sell crappy Priuses somehow.

What? Echo is not a hybrid.

It's not, but it gets better mileage than one. That's why they killed it.

While the Echo IS ugly I do not think that is why they are stopping production. If it were the reason then they would never had produced that beautiful Scion xB in the first place. The xA does sort of look like an Echo.

The Yaris which is replacing the Echo gets mileage that's just as good.
