Why did Newegg send my package 1/2 way across the country...

I'm in Irvine CA.....

Here are the location logs

Now why in the world would this happen. Doesn't this cost them more money?

It was probably missorted, so it went to mississippi instead.

I've had it happen occaisonally (not with newegg though) with both ups and fedex.

I thought this was going to be another thread where it was sent to Louisiana and the OP thought it was Los Angeles.

Yeah, I think it's UPS not Newegg. They tend to do stupid things like send them to the wrong place, realize their mistake, and send it back.

The sad part is for some reason Newegg split up a VGA/DVI adapter and a SD Memory card into TWO pacakges, and shipped them at the same time....the former arrived just fine, whereas the latter...well you know 😉

Going from Texas to Mississippi is far from half way across the country. You didn't take that USA geography test hopefully.
It looks like the package originated in Baldwin Park, CA to me, and that it left LA before heading for MS.

Boy did you just pwn yourself.

i guess UPS just wanted to charge you more money? don't use UPS. they suck bad. only use FedEx. it's a bit more expensive, but the better treatment your stufff gets is worth it.

UPS isn't always bad. In 100+ shipments from newegg, I haven't had one damaged box, every box came in pretty good condition, and I don't see why UPS always gets the bad rap.

I guess I got lucky so far... Fedex usually takes a good day longer when shipping from Neweggs warehouse in tennessee to texas, definitely not worth the huge price difference between fedex and ups at newegg.
Meh.
