Why did my web wheel stop working under IE? Works under normal windows apps.

I have a Logitech USB Ifeel optical mouse (minus the goofy ifeel motor 🙂 ). I have the wheel set to function as a 'web wheel'. About 2 weeks ago it stopped functioning as a web wheel inside of IE5.5. It still works outside of IE and it also works with IE if I boot to Win2k (Win98Se is my primary OS). Anyone have any iidea why this might be happening? Is there a setting somewhere in IE for this? I know I didn't change anything.

I could likely fix this by reinstalling the drivers but would really like to understand what happened before I stick a bandaid on this...or is this just a Microsoft why ask why kinda thing? 🙂

Dunno. I would kill the Logitech drivers since you don't use Ifeel, use a standard MS driver for a MS wheel mouse and enable the option to always assume Wheel is present.

Sounds like an API improper use (Logitech driver problem.)

Just a guess.

Prob a silly q, but have you tried programming the wheel, with the wheel? you can tell it to scroll or not to scroll by clicking on it in various places in the window, depending on what you want it to do.

There is other functionality that I would like to retain that wouldn't be supported by another driver. I haven't tried using the wheel to setup the scroll function...in fact I don't think that is possible. The driver has to have gotten screwed up somehow...it works just fine under Win2k.

Anyone else have a suggestion.
